The race 20-21 June and infection control rules

10-05-2020

After the government's press briefing 7 May it is clear that SMVE can be arranged 20-21 June under special conditions. All participants and officials must know the infection control rules for the race. You can find them here.

SMVE race update

01-05-2020

The government has now announced sports events up to 50 persons are allowed, with a possibility to open up for a total of 200 persons after 15 June. This is very promising and good news, and means SMVE probably can be arranged the 20-21 June, depending on permissions and of course with adjustments according to the prevailing infection control rules. However, we fully understand that the new date will not fit for everyone. We will keep you updated.

Status for SMVE 2020

24-04-2020

Because of the ongoing Corona virus epidemic the race can unfortunately not be arranged on 23-24 May. It is a small possibility that the race can be arranged 20-21 June, but this will depend on permissions.

Norwegian authorities will on 1 May the latest inform about the rules for sport events taking place after 15 June. Our final decision will therefore be taken approximately 1 May. Participants already signed up will then be offered the following options:

  • participate in an eventual postponed race 20-21 June
  • transfer the participance to next year, 22-23 May 2021
  • be refunded 50% of the participant fee paid on entry

Corona virus outbreak and SMVE

14-03-2020

We are continuously following the development of the infection risk and the health authorities' recommendations in relation to sport events. SMVE is a relatively small race, that takes place outdoors with a good distance between the runners, and with a small audience, so in principle the risk of infection for participants/audience will be small. However, the virus is spreading rapidly, and the Norwegian authorities have on 12 March introduced the most radical measures since World War II. We sincerely hope that the race can be conducted, but this of course relies on that the situation is improving. The decision on whether the race can be arranged will be taken approx. 20 April.
